Dome Hotel

Our story

On Kyrenia harbour for nearly a century.

The Dome Hotel rose on the Kyrenia waterfront in the early 1930s and is counted among the first European-style hotels on the island. For nearly a century it has welcomed guests in the same place, right in front of the harbour and the sea.

The architecture

The design is attributed to William Douglas Caröe, the British architect behind many buildings in Cyprus. Arched windows, marble floors, high ceilings and terraces opening onto the sea still define the hotel's character.

Kyrenia's meeting place

From its early years the Dome was a centre of the island's social life: balls and receptions, sunsets at the American Bar and terraces reaching into the sea. During the Second World War it was also a temporary home for people arriving from Europe.

Today

The old photographs in the lobby still tell this story. We continue the same hospitality with today's comforts: renovated rooms, a pool, direct sea access, the Anchor Restaurant and an address in the very centre of Kyrenia.
